Evaluation: 7th post

How have I progressed since my preliminary task?

Since my preliminary task I have learned a lot about editing and what level or organisation is needed to create a product like this, as well as the technology that is needed to create it. I have used a number of different technologies which I had never used before.

A comparison between my preliminary task and my main task products.

In my preliminary task I struggled with communicating with my group as they had far more experience with media language and technology than me. This was a problem as I would miss out on important information. To combat this I decided to move to a different group who I knew slightly better and they helped me and explained things clearly to me when I needed help. And to improve on communication we created a group chat to stay in touch outside of school as well as emailing important information to each other.

Our main task looked far better than my preliminary as it had better acting and dialogue, and in my preliminary task I think that the sound was not fitting to the video. I have learned especially in a  task like this that research and planning is vital to achieve good results from a product, time needs to be spent on researching you target audience to make sure that it has features or conventions that will make an enjoyable film. We learned that the planning of meeting up to film was vital to progress and we struggled initially, if given another attempt we would get ourselves organised a lot quicker now that we have learned how much it held us back. If I was to start the project again I would spend more time researching and analysing my data, as well as organising ourselves better and making the editing less rushed. This way we would be able to make a better product.
